SANS SERIF FONT AND SPECIMEN BOOK DESIGNN

DESCRIPTION
ÑAÑO is inspired by pre-Hispanic graphic systems and iconography from Ecuador (Valdivia, Jama-Coaque, Quitu-Cara), reinterpreting forms from petroglyphs and ceramics into a contemporary typographic structure. Its design balances rigidity and fluidity: precise outlines evoke architecture and glyphs, while softened interiors recall ceramic modeling and natural erosion, reflecting the tension between structure and human gesture.

DEVELOPEDDevelopment of the typeface family (four weights + italics, 317 glyphs), creation of a hand-bound specimen book with toner-printed sections and gold risograph details. Three styles: Dotted (pre-Hispanic decorative patterns), Fluid (continuous, gestural strokes), and Base (essential, clear, and solid version).
